Dawood MegaStore is a Chicken and Frozen Foods Wholesale
distributors based on the East Rand. In November 1997, RapidSoft
was commissioned to develop an integrated solution for the Head Office (Dawsons, Andrebolt, Boksburg). The objective
of the system was to capture TeleSales, prepare delivery schedule,
produce picking and packing lists, setup delivery drops, manage
Debtors, Creditors, Stock Control and produce Sales Analysis.
The system was implemented in February 1998 and was fine-tuned
over the following few months in order to streamline all the
physical processes. The project was a huge success and stepping
stone for RapidSoft. One of the more outstanding features of
this system and with similar ones installed at other meat and
chicken wholesalers is the flexibility created when dealing
with stock. Not only does it deal with units as a measurement
but also allows for mass measurements, which are a more suitable
means of keeping track of this type of stock. Similar system
is operational at Delfos Meat & Chicken (Delfos Boulevard, Vanderbijlpark)
and Central Meat Market in Mogale City (Krugersdorp).
In July 1999, RapidSoft was invited to implement the same
system at their sister company called F. Dawood & Sons (Dunswart, Benoni),
with few additional modules. F. Dawood & Sons are distributors
of the same range of products, wholesaling to Hawkers and
retail clients. Firstly, a Point-of-Sale system was required
together with an offline module of the Point-of-sale in order
to process transactions even if the Network happens to be
out of order for any reason what-so-ever. In addition, stock
transfer facility was required to transfer stock from Head Office (Dawsons)
to F. Dawood & Sons and vice versa. This system was implemented
in September 1999 and enjoyed the same success as the Head Office version.
Since October 2002, Several Retail & Wholesale outlets have been opened,
and the Point-of-sale System designed by RapidSoft has enjoyed the same
amount of success in all the outlets. In October 2002, ChickMart
(Crown Mines, Johannesburg) opened its doors, while in October 2005
Dawood Distribution (Rocky Drift, Nelspruit) started up, August 2006 saw
the opening of Poultry Power in Nelspruit and December 2006 dawned with the
opening of the Lenasia Branch and finally in November 2007 Poultry Power Soweto arrived on the scene.
