In July 1995, RapidSoft was approached
by FedSure’s Credit Life division to design and implement
a Quasi Groups system to administer the insuring of Credit Cards
from First National Bank and NedFin, and the subsequent claims
processing. The system was designed and triumphantly implemented
over the next few months, and it was fully operational by the
end of August 1995. FedSure’s Credit Life division then
embarked on a huge marketing effort in order to promote various
other products under the Quasi Groups System. The type of products
that were introduced covered for Agricultural Loans, Educational
Loans, Mortgage Loans, Micro Loans, Personal Loans, Leisure
TimeShares etc.
The success enjoyed by the Quasi system prompted further development
and in 1999 the system was implemented in FedSure’s Windhoek,
Namibian branch as well. A front-end system to the Quasi System
known as the Quotation system was later designed for the FedSure’s
Credit Life Division. This system is responsible for administering
the quotations for the potential scheme operators.
RapidSoft was also instrumental in a campaign called ‘Getting
to know you’ carried out by the marketing division of
Fedsure. RapidSoft was responsible for not only capturing
the survey forms but also restructuring it in a format that
was acceptable to the marketing division’s Database.
(Oracle) This made the data more tangible and allowed for
better manipulation of data for statistical purposes. The
impressive results provided by RapidSoft lead them to be re-commissioned
when the survey was carried out again 2 years later.
In 2001, FedSure Group was taken over by Investech
and the Credit Life division was taken over by Hollard Insurance.
Since Hollard’s take over of the system,
several other enhancements have also been introduced. Currently,
we are in the process of user testing the Electronic Funds
Transfer (EFT) phase of claims payment. This system contains
complete Audit Trail of production and claims modules as well
as rigid user access control on the claims processing
